zedede unused by IgorWolski zedede unused by IgorWolski
An unused page from my webcomic, zedede. Each page was a little too time consuming for the first chapter. I'll propably leave this technique for the second or third one.

Was this town also used in your 5 y old comic remake?

Nope, i jut like drawing small towns with tiny houses by the ocean :D This one is from a webcomic I wanted to start, but ended up with only 3 pages.

Well, the town has such a nice, well thought-out look to it to me, and it had too much style for it to look to me like it wasn't the same kind of town!

I so wish I had the ability to create wonderful, lush environments like this, but currently I can't. maybe I'll find tips for how to brainstorm such nice places.

I looked at the town in this pic and the other and wondered how many years it would take to draw such elaborate drawings! No wonder you only finished 3 pages if you drew them all so amazingly!

What a very nice page! -but there is  just one thing that I though was a bit odd; the line between the water and air in the first panel almost divedes the panel in 2 parts (I actually thought I was looking at 2 panels). Maybe you can make the line blue to cancel that effect? Anyway, great art!

really nice work..the only thing i would suggest is to color some of the linearts in the backgrounds to create more depth but thats just a small thing and its fine even now.

I realy don't want to come out like an ass, because god damn is this good looking and so very vibrant! So know that I think this is absolutely amazing befor I say anything else!

But I gotta say, the background on the top frame looks weird, because how the rocks align with the horizon, yet the houses seem way to big to be anyway near the horizon. This looks even crazier when the boats below looks so small yet they seem to be closer? All the parts seperate looks great, but it has me confused as a whole.

Feel free to ignore it, if you think I'm wrong, it just stuck out to me. :)

Heh, don't worry, I'm not that stuck up (: If you look closer through my other work, you'll see that I actually make a lot of mistakes like that. All perspective and compositions I measure "by eye", so often some houses will be too big, a wall will have a weird angle and stuff like that.

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll be more careful next time :)

It's not so much about people being stuck up... well I guess anyhow. Some people are just easely offended or take things way to personal, and I don't want to ruin anyones day. I try to be polite and helpfull about it when I can. :)

I don't mind the horizon issues on the first panel as much.  I don't know, for me it's an easy (and fun) reach to suspend reality a bit because of your awesome cartoon/realism blend of style.  The part that bothers me is that the values between that middle ground and far background are too close, so they start to look like one big mass, as if they are grouped together.  I can see you understand atmospheric perspective because things are getting lighter and less intense as they recede, I would just suggest pushing those back parts even more.  Eh, sorry, not that I have room to critique such an awesome piece.  Seriously, killer job.

Hard to say, a few hours to finish pencils and ink, could be longer with something more complicated. Then about a full day of work with coloring.

Totally awesome atmosphere!  Especially in that bottom panel, I'm jealous.  May I ask if you've been drawing comics for a while?  Or is this your first?  I have to say, It's pretty sweet.
